Cocktail Trends for 2014 – Our Predictions

Each year new trends are taking over old habits and customs when it comes to anything, including cocktails. These are our predictions for 2014:

Flavor Infusion – Last year we saw a lot of flavored vodkas infused with bacon, marshmallows or even grass. This year different alcohols will adopt this trend – the first example being an espresso flavored tequila.

Bar & Kitchen – Cocktail Pairing is here for good but the next natural step is actually adding food components to cocktails. Many Top bartenders already started experimenting with parmesan cheese, olive oil, tomatoes and even soy sauce!

Locally Made Spirits – Many Top bars are choosing high quality locally made spirits over their big competitors known around the world. This adds a unique and special (local) touch to each and every cocktail.

Keep It Simple, Stupid – For years many bartenders believed that ‘the more the better’ when it came to cocktail creation. Today simple ideas seem to work much better! A great cocktail needs only a few ingredients to be well balanced.
